iPhone 16 series.
Choose what matters.

From the simpler 16e to the larger Pro Max, the right choice depends on the camera and screen features you actually use. Compare the five models on equal terms.

Which model fits your routine?

iPhone 16e: keep it simple

Consider it for everyday apps and main-camera photos if the discount is substantial. It is a different feature package, not simply a cheaper-looking iPhone 16.

The compromise: no ultra wide camera or MagSafe; check accessory expectations before buying.

iPhone 16: balanced choice

A useful middle ground when you want an ultra wide camera, macro capability and MagSafe without the size of a Plus.

The compromise: no ProMotion or separate telephoto.

iPhone 16 Plus: larger everyday phone

Shortlist it for reading, navigation and video if you prefer a roomy screen but do not need the Pro camera system.

The compromise: a big body with the standard display feature set.

iPhone 16 Pro: camera flexibility

A strong shortlist for people who switch between wide scenes, close-ups and distant subjects, while avoiding the largest body.

The compromise: paying for camera features you rarely use can crowd out storage or a better-condition listing.

iPhone 16 Pro Max: room to work

Consider it for a large viewfinder, longer reading sessions and the highest published video-playback figure in this family.

The compromise: it does not add a longer telephoto than the smaller 16 Pro.

Display sizes are nominal diagonals. Storage options describe the model range, not current stock. ProMotion can vary the refresh rate up to 120Hz; it does not mean every app runs at 120 frames per second.

Battery figures are Apple’s US video-playback ratings, not measured everyday screen time. Test conditions and regional variants can differ; used-battery condition, mobile signal and workload affect actual endurance. Sensor-crop zoom is not an additional lens.

What the differences mean in use

16e or 16?

Choose the standard 16 when wide-angle group photos, close-up subjects or magnetic charging accessories are part of your routine. Choose the 16e only after deciding those omissions are acceptable at the asking price.

16 Pro or Pro Max?

Their listed rear-camera configurations match. Start with the size you can comfortably hold, then assess battery condition and storage. You do not need the Max solely to get the 5× camera.

16 Pro or 17?

Compare an older Pro for camera flexibility with a newer standard model for its own feature set and listing condition. Check the 17 guide before assuming that a standard model necessarily lacks a high-refresh-rate display.

These are editorial buying implications of the published specifications, not claims that ElitePhoneHub has personally tested these phones.

Choose storage before choosing a deal

Mostly streaming and everyday apps

Check your current storage use before paying for more. Allow room for app growth, offline maps and downloaded media; a low starting price is less useful if the capacity is already too small.

Lots of photos, games or offline video

Compare the next capacity up against the cost of cloud storage and how often you are willing to remove files. Cloud storage does not add physical space for installed apps.

Large video projects

Check your workflow, backup routine and transfer needs first. More storage helps retain files; it does not improve the camera itself or guarantee that you will use professional recording modes.

Buy the listing, not just the model

A magnetic case does not add native MagSafe charging to an iPhone 16e. Also verify the exact model: sellers sometimes put several capacities or models into one variation listing.

  1. Confirm the actual phone. Match the model, storage, colour and selected variation to the price you will pay.
  2. Ask about battery and repairs. Request current battery information and the parts/service history where available. A cosmetic grade does not answer these questions.
  3. Check activation and carrier status. Require an activation-ready device and confirm compatibility with your carrier, including physical SIM or eSIM requirements.
  4. Read the exceptions. Missing cameras, failed Face ID, management restrictions and functional faults can be buried in the description.
  5. Compare the delivered cost. Include shipping, applicable taxes, import charges and the cost of returning a faulty device.

Questions before you buy

Are every model and capacity always available?

No. Inventory depends on the marketplace, destination and sellers. An option in a filter is not proof of stock. If a search returns nothing, try fewer optional filters without compromising on condition or compatibility.

Does unlocked mean it will work in my country?

Unlocked describes carrier restrictions. You must still verify the exact regional model, supported network features and SIM format with your carrier.

Is refurbished automatically better than used?

No. Read the specific refurbishment standard, battery commitment, warranty and return terms. Different sellers can use different grading systems.

Should I upgrade from a working phone?

Identify a specific limitation first: insufficient storage, an unreliable battery, an uncomfortable size or a camera feature you need. Compare a repair quote with the net cost of replacement before treating a newer generation as necessary.
